The Butler Cave Conservation Society will celebrate an important milestone on May 26, 2008. The 50/40 celebration will honor the dedication of Society members and friends who have contributed to "50 years of discovery, 40 years of stewardship". From Ike Nicholson's 1958 discovery of Butler Cave, through the Butler Cave Conservation Society founding in 1968 to the current day activities of the BCCS, the celebration is well founded. The event itself will be a time of rejoicing for Society members and friends. The accomplishments of the Society have made it a role model for the entire caving community.
